Company Journal 02: New faces, further afield
Written By Wez - 06/10/2026
Welcome to the second Company Journal. Our first entry looked back over a year on the tools. From here on it is a monthly update: what has changed, who has joined, and where the teams have been.
New yard update
The new yard took another step forward this month. The office has arrived and been craned into place beside the barn, and new signage is going up around the site. There is more to come as the site comes together, and we will keep sharing progress in future journals.
New faces
Cameron has joined the Tree Surgery team.
Tyler has joined the Landscaping team as a Team Leader.
Ethan has gone full time and is now part of the Landscaping team.
Welcome to all three. We are still growing, and our current vacancies are on the recruitment page.
Silver Tree Heroes
Silver Tree Heroes is our new way of recognising someone who has gone beyond the job. This month it is Jamie, who put in the extra time to see a job through and make sure it was finished properly for the client. That kind of commitment is what our clients notice, and it does not go unnoticed here either. Thanks, Jamie.
Working nationwide
Most of our work is in Gloucestershire and the surrounding counties, but the larger contracts take the teams a long way from the yard. This month that included away work with Berkeley Parks.
The snapshot image is a typical afternoon on our vehicle tracker, with vans working from South Yorkshire down to Devon, across Oxfordshire and Berkshire, and around home in Gloucestershire. Away work runs the same way as a job down the road: the same crews, the same kit and the same accreditations, just with the vans loaded for a longer trip.
Going from strength to strength with Elevate FM
Our work with Elevate FM keeps growing. Much of it involves putting things right on sites that Elevate FM looks after for its own clients. That suits a team covering tree surgery, landscaping and grounds maintenance under one roof.
If you manage a portfolio of sites and want one contractor for the green side of it, take a look at our commercial grounds maintenance page.
Training
Ricky has completed the four-day Lantra Instructional Techniques course and can now deliver Aerial Tree Cutting training. Our training is delivered in house by our own trainers, so every instructor we add means more of the team can be trained without waiting on outside course dates.
Pro Landscaper Sustainability and Biodiversity Awards
As mentioned last month, Silver Tree Services is shortlisted in the Arboriculture Company category. The winners are announced on 13 October at Farnborough, and we will share the result in the next journal.
